The Neo Kizomba Festival can summed up in the following three words: learn, dance, grow! This event has been super influential in paving the growth of urban kiz in North America since 2015!

Dear Neo Kizomba Family,
This is not the message I wanted to write. With a heavy heart, I need to let you know that Neo Kizomba Festival 2025 is being postponed to July 2026.
This decision didn’t come easily. After much deep reflection, many sleepless nights, and heartfelt conversations, it’s become clear that several factors—logistical challenges, venue issues, limited team capacity, and the increasing costs of travel and living—make it impossible to deliver the high-quality, joy-filled experience this community deserves without risking burnout or harm to our wellbeing.
The Neo Kizomba Festival has always stood for more than just an event. It’s been a container to push urbankiz forward, honor our artistry, pay everyone equitably, and gather to connect, learn, and level up.
But the reality is, events like this require consistent and substantial support. As much as our hearts are in it, we’ve reached a point where moving forward this year would mean operating on empty—emotionally, financially, and logistically.
To those who have already bought tickets, booked flights, and made space in your life for this gathering: thank you. I see your commitment, and I deeply feel the disappointment this news may bring. It’s not lost on me how much you invested, and I’m truly sorry for the ripple this creates.
Right now, I need to honor the truth that I—and our team—must refill our cups before we can continue pouring into this work and this community.
We’re setting our sights on July 2026, with a clear intention: to return renewed, resourced, and ready to deliver the kind of experience that defines the Neo Kizomba Festival.
If you purchased a pass, you’ll receive a follow-up email with options for rollover or transfer. We’ll also be responding to pending messages as our capacity allows.
We’ve poured over a decade of heart and sweat into this vision, and we’re committed to moving forward in a way that is sustainable and worthwhile for everyone involved.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your continued presence in this journey.
With grace and gratitude,
Charles Ogar and
Neo Kizomba Festival Team
